Hardware Architecture of Software Defined Distribution Storage

 

In order to form high density storage room, the design of this software defined distributed storage room is 1U height,

 

 

Each basic equipment contains two dual-port 10G Ethernet switches and eight micro-servers, is a complete set of hardware redundancy. All of the 10G Ethernet switches, micro-server and hard disks are supporting hot-swap, thus the replacement of any hardware device does not affect the overall storage system performance.

Since each basic equipment has four 10G ports interface, the convergence of the bandwidth can effectively solve the problem of network bottlenecks, compared with the traditional storage server, decentralized micro-server can also effectively reduce the harware failure risk,

 

 

 

 

 

As the micro-server architecture is ARM based, which greatly reduces power consumption, this system can be said to be the most energy-efficient storage system.
